Once the form is filled in we do require a deposit of 1 hour on local moving or approx 22% deposit on Long Distance Moving!. A deposit can be made credit card or echeck online by following the information listed at the bottom of this page!
Deposits:
Deposits: ( Local Moving ) Deposits are applied to your move.
Amount of deposit required: Min 1 hour or 10% whichever is higher. Deposit can be made online by paypal Simply click on a paypal icon at the bottom of the home page of this website. Deposit can be mailed into office a min of 2 weeks prior to move or people can come into our office to make a deposit
Not being able to make a deposit: If there is a issue making a deposit we usually can solve most any issue.
Refunds on deposits and problems we have with last minute cancellations:
Moving your date: Deposit is simply tranferred to new date Cancellations more than 10 days prior to Move: $50 cancellation fee balance refunded. Cancellations less than 10 Days prior to Move: No refund is made as unfortunately last minute cancellations on local moving mean often that we do not have the opportunity to fill spots that we easily could have filled as most people do give us at least two weeks notice. Cancelling the day the evening or morning of a scheduled Move: If a move is cancelled prior to closing hours at the office then your staff is scheduled to do your move and is subject to a 4 hours min as we have to pay staff for 4 hours each once they come into the office to move. Cancelling overnight the night before your move still costs movers the same as if they actually did your move as the labour costs are the same.
Deposits on Long Distance Moves: Deposits are applied to move.
Amount of Deposit: The amount of deposit is equal to 22% of the transportation charge plus the dispatch fee plus GST.. Your moving consultant will advise you of the exact amount.
Cancellations / Refunds:
Refunds are fully refundable up to 10 days prior to your move less the dispatch fee and costs that are incurred to process and refund credit cards ( usually about 3-5% of the deposit)
Refunds are not refundable if cancelled 10 days or less prior to the move. We make commitments to other customers based on all shipments going out and if you cancel on short notice we are left often sending the truck out without proper weight that we could have filled the truck earlier.
